The History of Connex
Connex Transport Jersey Ltd operates the mybus, myExplorer and mySchoolBus networks on behalf of the States of Jersey.
While Connex Transport Jersey Ltd is registered as a Jersey company, it is part of Veolia Transport which, in turn, is a subsidiary of the worldwide group Veolia Environnement. A world leader in environmental services, Veolia Environnement specialises in public transport, waste management, water and energy supplies.

In Jersey, there were more than 3 million passenger journeys on the myBus network in 2009, and the number of passenger journeys is rising steadily year on year.
Connex started operations in Jersey in September 2002 with a seven year delegated management contract. In 2007, in recognition of our commitment to enhancing the level of service, Connex was awarded two further contracts – the summer leisure services (now myExplorer) and the school bus service (mySchoolBus). Coinciding with the award of these contracts, the original contract to operate the public transport network was extended until 31 December 2012.
The Fleet
The Connex fleet comprises 82 buses consisting of:

- 5 x Dennis Dart Enviro 200
- 52 x Caeatano Nimbus
- 16 x Dart Pointer
- 7 x Mercedes Beaver 2 (school buses)
Reflecting our commitment to the environment, over two thirds of our fleet meets Euro 3 specifications, ensuring low levels of emissions.
All buses are inspected annually by Driver and Vehicle Standards and every vehicle is serviced by our skilled team of mechanics at least once every six weeks. All buses are cleaned, fuelled and checked daily.
